Zydax provides high quality environmental sensors in a complete package. Every environmental sensor is shipped with cable to meet your specifications, software for your personal computer, and any communications adapters you may require. Data is provided in published open protocol, or if desired, NTCIP format.
Our environmental sensors are designed to be flexible enough to meet the needs of many different applications. Zydax environmental sensors do not require an RPU to provide you with the critical maintenance information you need. They can work with off-the-shelf personal computers, data loggers, and RPU systems.
All Zydax environmental sensors come equipped with direct burial cable, forming a weatherproof sensor ready to survive in almost any environment. Cable runs can be up to 4000 feet (over 1200 meters).
Our environmental sensors have several communications options available. All are capable of communicating over a direct serial connection. Some models feature an internal modem module for remote communications.
Zydax environmental sensors are very durable, and are intended to survive the rigors of installation in the road surface. They have a rated operational temperature range of -50°C to +85°C (-58°F to +185°F).

The Zydax Work Zone Safety Alarm (WZSA) makes it possible to quickly and easily set up an Audio Alarm System over a large area. Each WZSA is a self-contained, battery operated audio alarm that comes complete with one Remote Activation Handset (RAHS). Multiple WZSA units on a site work together to form a unified alarm system.
The 120+ dB audio alarm can be triggered from up to 1000 feet using a RAHS radio handset. Each WZSA retransmits alarm signals to other alarm units at distances up to 3000 feet; making it easy to cover large areas or long distances.
The WZSA is designed to be rugged and easy to deploy in work zones of any size. The built in telescoping handle and wheels make the WZSA easy to move. The WZSA features a mounting bracket that receives 1 inch square tubing. This bracket provides the ability to easily elevate the unit and attach it to sign standards, posts or other devices. The WZSA features a control panel that makes it easy to select one of three different audio alert sounds.
Each alarm ships with one (1) RAHS handset, additional handsets are available upon request. In addition to manual activation, automated alarming under various conditions—such as perimeter intrusion detection—is an available option. An additional option adds the ability to set off radar detectors.

The Zydax Active Passive Surface Sensor (ZAPSS) sensor combines all the great features of our T2WD with a combined active/passive freeze point detection sensor. Up to two optional external temperature sensors may be added with cable runs of up to 4000 feet (1200 meters).
The Zydax Dual Temperature Wet/Dry (T2WD) sensor provides surface and pavement (approximately 1.75" or 4.5 cm below the surface) and wet/dry sensor. Up to two optional external temperature sensors may be added with cable runs of up to 4000 feet (1200 meters).
The T2WD features an RS485 serial connection and can be equipped with an optional internal land-line or external cellular modem.
The Zydax In-Ground Instrumentation (ZIGI) is a combination of soil moisture and soil temperature sensors packaged to meet customers needs for easy installation and data collection.
Each ZIGI is custom built to meet the user's specific needs for moisture and temperature data at multiple levels. The ZIGI features an RS485 serial connection and can be equipped with an optional internal land-line or external cellular modem. Additional devices may be added, including sensors to monitor air temperature, humidity, and surface conditions, cameras and other devices.
The Zydax Snow Fighter's Sensor provides a low cost, complete solution for monitoring surface conditions. The Zydax SFS provides surface temperature and wet/dry readings with available subsurface and air temperature options.
The Snow Fighter's Sensor features an RS485 serial connection and can be equipped with internal land-line modem or optional connectivity for an external cellular modem.

The Zydax Temperature Sensor (ZTS) is a state of the art intelligent environmental sensor that can be used as a stand-alone temperature sensor or be used as part of a network of sensors. The Zydax ZTS can be configured with an optional humidity sensor.
The ZTS communicates over an RS-485 serial bus of up to 4000 feet in length. Over two-hundred sensors can share a single bus.
The ZTS is our most compact sensor, it measures only 1.9 cm (0.75 inches) in diameter by 7.6 cm (3 inches) in length.
Zydax is pleased to announce the Zydax Integrated Passive Surface Sensor (ZIPSS). This new sensor utilizes technologies tested and proven in the Zydax Active Passive Surface Sensor (ZAPSS) to detect pavement conditions. This sensor requires an RPU or similar technology for communications and is designed for new or existing installs. Very competitively priced, the ZIPSS reports true Surface Temperature, Pavement Temperature (1.75" below the surface), Surface Conditions (Wet, Dry, Chemical Wet) and Freeze Point of moisture present. Zydax has developed the Zydax Data Collection Program (ZDCP) that elimates, in most cases, the need for expensive external equipment to poll sensors and log data. The (ZDCP) uses the Zydax Open Protocol to communicate with the sensors. This program communicates with sensors either via a dedicated serial port or via modem. One of the features is the ability to easily and quickly set up several rules to initiate dial alerts to up to 6 (six) phone numbers. Visual reports to simplify viewing data from numerous sensors are incredibly simple to implement. The user interface is very user friendly and fast. The ZDCP is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP computer systems.
The ZDCP makes it easy to work with a network of Zydax intelligent sensors. Up to 254 sensors can be placed on each network. Multiple sessions of can be run on one computer. Each session controls a different communications port.
